Dressed for the Distance: How We Design for People Who Actually Move

There's a moment every traveler knows. You're somewhere between a mountain trail and a candlelit dinner, your bag is already at the hotel, and you have exactly what you're wearing. That moment is why Vessel exists.

We started in 2019 in a small workshop in Porto, Portugal, with a single obsession: clothing that doesn't ask you to choose between looking good and living fully. Our founders, Marta and Jonas, had spent years working in technical outdoor apparel and luxury fashion respectively — and both kept arriving at the same frustration. One world built things that performed but looked like gear. The other built things that looked beautiful but fell apart the moment life got real.

Vessel was their answer to that gap.

The Fabric First Philosophy

Every piece in the Vessel line begins not with a sketch, but with a material. Our sourcing team travels twice a year — to mills in Japan, Portugal, and Peru — looking for fabrics that meet what we call the "Three-Day Test": Can you wear this for three days across three completely different contexts without it losing its shape, its color, or its dignity?

This season's standout is our washed merino-linen blend, developed in collaboration with a family-run mill outside Braga. It breathes like linen, recovers like merino, and after a dozen washes, it only gets better. That's not marketing — it's just what good fiber does over time.
